Savage Beauty
The +CraftsCouncil #Hothouse2016 induction day on the 3rd of February was an amazing beginning to an exciting creative journey. It was great to meet the other makers and to share our stories. With a busy year ahead I decided to have a few days in London & Brighton. One of the highlights of my break was treading carefully around Derek Jarman's famous garden @ Prospect Cottage where he lived on the bleak & atmospheric shingle shore near Dungeness nuclear power station. I was in awe of it's savage beauty a wilderness in the desert.
Derek Jarman (1942-1994) was an English film director, stage designer, diarist, artist, gardener and author.Jubilee a film I cherish is a 1978 punk cult film directed by Derek Jarman.
